Crystal Palace turn to AEK Athens defender Ognjen Vranjes

Crystal Palace are turning to Greece in their search for a new centre-half.

The Mirror says Crystal Palace are keeping tabs on AEK Athens defender Ognjen Vranjes.

The Eagles' new boss Frank de Boer is considering alternatives after being priced out of a move for £30m-rated Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho and experienced Bosnia & Herzegovina international Vranjes is one option on his radar.

The 27-year-old has a £4.5million buyout clause in his current deal.
