Crystal Palace are chasing Swansea City outcast Jonjo Shelvey.

The Daily Mail says Palace boss Alan Pardew could look to strengthen in the middle of the park, joining former club Newcastle in the hunt for out of favour England midfielder Shelvey.

Shelvey had an impressive start to the season but has been linked with a move in January after losing his place in the Swansea team.

The former Liverpool player did start Swansea's goalless draw at Palace last month, but he was substituted early in the second half after an underwhelming performance.
