Melbourne Victory have handed the captaincy to Australian international Mark Milligan.
The 28-year old midfielder has taken the reins from Adrian Leijer, stepping up from the vice-captain role he held last season.
Milligan was the subject of heavy interest from Premier League club Crystal Palace during the recent transfer window but remained with the Victory and has now been rewarded for a fine 2012/13 campaign with the captain's armband.
