Crystal Palace swoop for Forest striker Earnshaw

Crystal Palace are swooping for Nottingham Forest striker Robert Earnshaw.

The London Evening Standard says the pocket rocket, standing just 5ft 6ins, is obviously not in new Forest boss Steve McClaren's plans and Palace manager Dougie Freedman met with Earnshaw yesterday.

The Welsh front man, who notched 11 goals last season, has already attracted fees of £12.65million in his moves from Cardiff to West Brom, Derby, Norwich and Forest - but is now a free agent after three years at the City Ground. Earnshaw has 198 career goals in all competitions.

Freedman sees him as the perfect foil for Glenn Murray, who was Brighton's leading scorer last season.
