The midfielder was formally released from his contract at Olympique Marseille yesterday.

OM confirmed the mutual termination last night.

Former Chelsea and Arsenal midfielder Diarra has been linked with Manchester United, though Crystal Palace and Sunderland are now being mentioned.

A move to China is also being considered by Diarra's camp.
