Dan Petrescu's mooted move to Crystal Palace appears to be in danger of not going ahead.
The former Chelsea and Romani star is being targeted by the south London club but so far they have been unable to meet his demands.
Petrescu, who is the current manager of Dinamo Moscow, is asking for around £30,000-a-week to join the Eagles but the Selhurst Park outfit want him for much less.
Petrescu's close friend and former Tottenham, Barcelona and Galatasaray man Gica Popescu suggested the deal was now unlikely.
"Dan won't sign for Palace! We had a 40 minute chat today, he told me that. I advised him not to go," he said.
"I know why he didn't go, I know what his terms were, and also the offer."
