Crystal Palace striker set for Chelsea return

Chelsea are looking to recall Patrick Bamford from his loan spell with Crystal Palace.

According to the London Evening Standard, the Blues are growing increasingly worried that the 22-year-old is not getting enough minutes in the Eagles first team.

Bamford, who was named the Championship Player of the Year while on loan with Middlesbrough last season, has featured in just two Premier League matches for Alan Pardew since arriving temporarily at Selhurst Park.

The former MK Dons and Derby County loanee has received 10 minutes against Arsenal in August and a further six minutes against Tottenham last month which Chelsea feel is nowhere near enough for a player of his talent.

Pardew has opted to use summer signing Connor Wickham, 28-year-old Fraizer Campbell and 24-year-old Dwight Gayle more frequently than Bamford which has raised alarms at Stamford Bridge.
