Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle is a target for Newcastle United.

The Evening Chronicle says the striker is ready to leave Crystal Palace for regular first-team football and the Magpies have been offered the chance to sign him.

He could cost £10m after agreeing a new Palace deal last year.

But Rafa Benitez has been handed a hefty warchest and will spent a large fraction on a proven goalscorer.
