Crystal Palace summer signing Christian Benteke has revealed that he has tried to convince Wilfried Zaha into staying with the club.
The reportedly unsettled winger has been the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur this summer but Benteke is eager for him to remain at Selhurst Park.
Palace manager Alan Pardew, before the game against Bournemouth, admitted that 23-year-old Zaha had been affected by the Spurs interest.
Zaha started the game on the bench, but made a positive impact in his second-half appearance in the 1-1 draw, and it was that positivity that has new teammate Benteke hopeful.
"I came to Palace because of the way that they play," said the Belgian.
"It was good for me and the manager can get the best out of me. They can build a team around my qualities and abilities.
"Everyone knows Wilf's ability on the ball and he helped us a lot when he came on. Of course we'd like him to stay.
"I've spoken with him and tried to convince him."
