Crystal Palace seek to raise funds through fans

Crystal Palace are seeking £50,000 from fans to keep the club running.

They are appealing for at least 2,000 supporters to hand over £25 each, says the Sunday Express.

Palace, who were docked 10 points after going into administration last month, want fans to sponsor the game against Preston on Easter Monday as well as paying to get in.

In return, every donor will get a mention in the match programme.

"We have been overwhelmed by offers of help from supporters," said chief executive Phil Alexander. "This money will be a great help."

Administrator Brendan Guilfoyle added: "I have been hugely impressed by the passion of Palace fans and I know this initiative will be a huge success."
