Crystal Palace's Pardew full of praise for 'diligent' Zaha

Alan Pardew feels Wilfried Zaha should be pointed out for his recent form with Crystal Palace.

The attacking winger has added a defensive side to his game of late which Pardew felt came to the fore in Monday night's 2-1 win over reigning champions Manchester City.

"I thought in the Manchester City game he was diligent, sharp to the tackle, in his position at all times," said Pardew.

"If you are going to be a wide player in the modern game particularly in a five-man midfield you need to be able to defend.

"I think all our players are going to be looked at, perhaps in a kinder manner or at different lengths to how they've been looked at and so they should be.

"They've put themselves into a position now where our form is as good as the top three or four clubs in the country and therefore they should receive the plaudits for what they're doing."
