Crystal Palace's Jedinak injures groin

Mile Jedinak has sent a scare through the Australian national team camp just a month out from the 2014 World Cup.

The 29-year old midfielder sustained a slight groin injury during Crystal Palace's final Premier League fixture of the 2013/14 season which ended in a 2-2 draw with Fulham on Sunday.

But the Palace skipper, who captained the Socceroos recently, is still expected to be named in Ange Postecoglou's 30-man preliminary squad which will be announced on Wednesday morning Australian time.

Jedinak, who started all 38 of the Eagles' league matches this term, was subbed off in the 59th minute as the south London club twice squandered a lead at Craven Cottage.

Palace finished 11th on the Premier League table with 13 wins, six draws and 19 losses, recording 45 points in the process.
