Crystal Palace's Carle on verge of Shaanxi Chanba move

Australian midfielder Nick Carle could be set for a Crystal Palace exit as talks with Chinese Super League club Shaanxi Chanba continue. The Australian international has fallen out of favour at Selhurst Park and is seeking regular first team football in a bid to boost his World Cup selection hopes.

The Eagles allowed him to miss Saturday's Championship clash with Plymouth Argyle to discuss the potential deal which Palace boss Neil Warnock said could be until the end of the year.

"We allowed Nick to speak to them and that is why he wasn't on the bench. He asked our permission to go and look at the place. He went late Friday and should be back by the middle of this week," Warnock told the South London Press.

"They are talking about a loan until Christmas."

Carle joined Palace in mid-2008 from Bristol City after a stint with Turkish club Genclerbirligi and will link up with Ivorian-born Australian midfielder Jonas Salley at Shaanxi if he makes the move to China.
