Crystal Palace are set to go after Swansea City striker Bafetimbi Gomis according to reports.
The Daily Mail suggests that new Eagles boss Alan Pardew is ready to make the Frenchman the south London club's record signing.
It is believed that Palace chairman Steve Parish has sanctioned the move for 29-year old Gomis who has struggled for game time since joining the Swans from Lyon in the summer.
Pardew hinted that the club was working on bringing in a few fresh faces this winter and suggested that negotiations to sign a new striker were ongoing with the topic of finances unlikely to be an issue.
"Is that the kind of backing I'd hope for? Of course," Pardew said.
"I can't say anything about the financial side - I think that's unfair on any club we're talking to.
"But the chairman and the board are keen to try to bring a player or two and I know they're working hard towards that.
"We have to wait and see, it's complicated securing any player and particularly a striker."
Since arriving at the Liberty Stadium, 12-time France international Gomis has made 16 Premier League appearances but only four have been starts. He has netted four goals in 20 outings in all competitions for the Welsh club.
