Crystal Palace not about to send McCarthy away on loan

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock says he knows nothing about a possible loan move for Paddy McCarthy.

The 31-year old Irish centre-back, who is the Eagles' club captain, is being linked with a temporary shift to Championship club Bolton.

Warnock admits he has fielded offers for McCarthy from second tier clubs but insists the former Leicester City and Charlton Athletic man is going nowhere anytime soon.

"It's the first I've heard about it - I read about it just now," Warnock told the Croydon Advertiser.

"I've had a couple of Championship clubs enquire about Paddy on loan.

"There aren't going to be a shortage of takers for people like that."

McCarthy first joined Palace from Charlton in 2008 and has since made 150 appearances in all competitions for the south London outfit.
