Crystal Palace No2 Keith Millen says management was pleased with their 3-1 friendly win over Valencia.

Connor Wickham scored twice and Mile Jedinak was also on the scoresheet.

"We're pleased with the game time they've (the players) have had. Our lads have certainly showed their match fitness, so that's pleasing," said Millen.

"It was a good physical game to be fair. We needed that. There was a lot of physicality to it. At times the referee needed to stamp a few things down but we got away with it.

"Earlier in pre-season you just want to get some game time out of the lads and you play certain players out of position at times, so today was more structured and I think that's why our performance was better because the lads knew what we wanted of them and they did that."
