Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson was in Sweden to see their World Cup playoff win over Italy.
The Daily Mail says Hodgson would like to sign three players in January to help Palace escape their current rut as they prepare relegation battle.
It's suggested AEK attacker Jakob Johansson was in the sights of Hodgson.
The 27 year-old proved the matchwinner on the night.
Meanwhile, Ruben Loftus-Cheek is grateful to Palace for giving him the chance to play his way into the England team.
He told the Croydon Advertiser: "Wherever I play is wherever I play, I don't have any arguments where I play at Palace.
"I just want to play football, it's what I need. "Wherever I play, I try to learn and I think the position tonight suited me more, but wherever I play I can't complain
"I am really proud, I'm at Chelsea but I am a south Londoner at heart, it was a great night for me and for my family. I hope things can go up from this point."
