Crystal Palace have missed out on Alberto Gilardino.

The former Fiorentina and Italy striker was offered to Palace last week.

However, Gilardino has now signed for Serie BSpezia.

The 35 year-old was a free agent after being released by Pescara and had been training in Canada.

Palace are in the market for a new striker with Roy Hodgson's squad hit by a major injury crisis.
