Olympique Marseille are ready to step up talks for Crystal Palace midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

Fed up with the drawn out negotiations over West Ham rebel Dimitri Payet, OM are turning to Cabaye as an alternative.

OM coach Rudi Garcia worked with Cabaye at Lille and has recommended the midfielder to sports chief Andoni Zubizarreta.

Cabaye is aware of the interest and has let it be known he'd welcome a move.

The veteran has lost his first-choice status at Palace this season.
