Ruben Loftus-Cheek has insisted he done the right thing by going out on loan to Crystal Palace.

The Chelsea midfielder played more minutes in the Eagles 3-0 opening day defeat to Huddersfield than he did for the whole of last season with the Blues.

"It's tough being at Chelsea," Loftus-Cheek said.

"It's a massive club with really good players so you don't get the opportunity every weekend."

"Coming to Palace, I'm really excited to be playing. There's still massive competition here."
