Crystal Palace manager Hodgson: I'm feeling the pressure

Roy Hodgson says the pressure of keeping Crystal Palace of the Premier League is definitely getting to him.

The ex-Fulham and England boss has presided over a good start to his reign at Palace, with the club claiming 10 points from the past 11 games.

They are now away from the bottom of the league table, but still in the relegation zone.

The form at Selhurst Park is even better, with eight points from the past four games, including a win against Chelsea. The visit of Bournemouth promises to be a great occasion for the fans.

But Hodgson knows what is at stake.

"I find it a very pressurised environment," he said.

"We are desperate to do better than we have been doing, we're desperate to give the fans the victories that we think their attendance and their support merits, and that the club deserves too.

"We feel an enormous amount of pressure. I can't imagine quite frankly, at the moment, that there'll be one of the 23 games remaining where I don't feel an enormous pressure to get a result."

He is hoping the pressure he feels also resonates with his first team squad.

"I hope that transfers to the players too, because the moment we take our foot even slightly off the gas we're going to be going backwards," he said.

After the Bournemouth game, Palace entertain Watford, go to Leicester and Swansea, and face Arsenal at home.
