Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson is reluctant to declare Tottenham striker Harry Kane best he worked with.

Hodgson worked with Kane as England coach.

He said: "I don't make comparisons and I guess Ronaldo might get a little bit concerned about that if I was to say he [Kane] was the best.

"I might get a phone call from him and Roberto Baggio, they might be reminding me a little bit about them for instance.

"What I am prepared to say is he is excellent striker, I was really pleased working with him, in the early stages of his England career.

"He'll get stronger and stronger both for Spurs and for England and I'm not the slightest bit surprised how successful he is because he works to be successful and he has all the qualities needed to be that top centre-forward.

"Unfortunately I shall be on the wrong end of him, I always preferred when he was on the team I was coaching."
