Crystal Palace loanee Doyle to miss Rep of Ireland's clash with Scotland

Kevin Doyle has been ruled out of the Republic of Ireland's meeting with Scotland this weekend.

Martin O'Neill's Ireland side take on Gordon Strachan's Scotsmen on Friday night in Glasgow in Euro2016 qualifying but will be without striker Doyle who has been withdrawn due to a groin injury.

"The Football Association of Ireland today confirmed that Kevin Doyle has withdrawn from the Irish squad, and will return to his club for treatment on a groin injury," read a Football Association of Ireland statement.

The absence of the Wolves striker, who is on loan at Crystal Palace, leaves Robbie Keane and Shane Long as O'Neill's two main men in attack for the vital clash with the Scots.
