Crystal Palace hopeful of new signings after 'spreading wings' across Europe

Sam Allardyce is hoping Crystal Palace can soon make some new signings.

The South London club are determined to bring in some fresh faces this month in a bid to stave off relegation under Allardyce, having already signed Jeffrey Schlupp from Leicester City.

Following Tuesday night's 2-1 win over Bolton Wanderers in the FA Cup third-round replay, the boss said: "We are spreading our wings far and wide and hopefully in the next 48 hours, at least one of those targets will be saying yes, pass a medical and sign for us.

"It's hard to say how many we're looking for; we've had about five, six or even eight bids in for players across Europe and in this country, and we've only had one accepted which is Jeffrey Schlupp."

The Eagles are being linked with Sevilla midfielder Vicente Iborra, Liverpool centre-back Mamadou Sakho, Montpellier defender William Remy, Arsenal full-back Carl Jenkinson and Sunderland left-back Patrick van Aanholt, among others.
