Crystal Palace have gone cold on Sunderland fullback Patrick van Aanholt.
The Daily Mail says Palace have yet to improve on their £8m bid for Van Aanholt after holding talks with Juventus left-back Patrice Evra instead.
Evra though wants an extra year on his contract to compensate for taking a cut in wages.
Palace tried for former Sunderland target Vicente Iborra from Sevilla last week but were told the club captain would not leave for less than his buy out clause.
They do hope to conclude a deal for Arsenal right-back Carl Jenkinson over the next 24 hours and have held further talks about the possible sale of Andros Townsend to Newcastle.
