Premier League strugglers Crystal Palace have received a boost by the news that Christian Benteke could be set to return to action sooner than expected and could even be back before the end of the month.
The Belgian international suffered a knee ligament injury against Manchester City on September 25 and it was initially told by medics that he could be out for up to six weeks.
The 26-year-old has however reported that his recovery process is going well and he could be back in action for the Eagles soon who are currently in last position on the Premier League standings with three points from eight games.
He said: "The rehab is going really well and I am really happy with the way that my ligament is healing. I hope and I feel like I can be back in a few weeks."
Benteke plans to combine well with team-mate Wilfried Zaha upon his return and said: "Wilf and I had the same injury. Losing him was a really bad moment for us and for the team."The good thing is Wilf is back and fit again and hopefully he is going to help the team."
