Crystal Palace fullback Patrick van Aanholt has welcomed the appointment of new manager Frank de Boer.
De Boer, the former Ajax and Inter Milan coach, was confirmed as Palace boss yesterday.
"I was initially disappointed to see Sam Allardyce leave at the end of the season, because he was the reason I came to the club," said Van Aanholt.
"But the news that a Dutch citizen today is presented as manager, makes me very enthusiastic.
"His statistics prove his qualities as a trainer and I look forward to working with him."
He added: "He is a big name in the Netherlands and he has shown that he is capable of winning in his own country with four titles."
