Chester defender Sam Hughes is interesting Crystal Palace.

The Daily Mail says Palace have checked on the 20-year-old centre-back this season with Barnsley having a bid of £75,000 rejected back in January.

Hughes, who became Chester's youngest ever captain this season, is out of contract in the summer though Chester can still command compensation.

A Championship move is more likely, with Wolves, Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday fighting for his signature.
