Soon-to-be-released Crystal Palace centre-back Anthony Gardner has emerged as a transfer target for a club in China.

The 31-year old is being targeted by Sheffield Wednesday after his Selhurst Park contract expired but his agent has revealed that a club from the Far East, believed to be in China, is showing considerable interest.

"Anthony is in no rush to decide what the next step of his career is and after back-to-back injury-free seasons he feels that he can still play in the top flight," agent Aaron Remikie told Sky Sports.

"There has been a lot of interest from both the UK and in the Far East. "
