Crystal Palace defender Ertl keen to remain an Eagle

Crystal Palace's Johannes Ertl is hoping he can make a long career at Selhurst Park.

The 26-year old Austrian defender joined the Eagles in 2008 and has just begun to taste regular first team action under Neil Warnock.

Now has had a taste of it, Ertl wants more and is keen to help Palace surge forward.

"I want to stay at this club for a long time," he said. "I am working really hard to make that possible.

"I love it here. I enjoy working with the gaffer and all the team, I think the supporters are fantastic and I feel very happy and settled at the club now.

"I feel a lot more comfortable in my second year. I am enjoying playing in midfield and feel that I can do a good job in there.

"The gaffer has just told me to go out and enjoy my football and that's what I'm doing.

"It took me a while to get used to the different standard of British football. When you haven't played in it before you have to get used to the passion and the intensity of the matches.

"But I really like that side of the game and feel that the style of play suits me as a player."
