Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann has hailed the form of goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey.

The Wales international has been in sensational form since the end of September and now has his eye on the European Championships this summer.

"He is a top goalkeeper and is being given the chance to show how good he is," said Dann to the Croydon Advertiser.

"Wayne is going from strength to strength for us and it is good to know you have got that quality behind you.

"Obviously Julian Speroni did a great last season but Wayne has come in and made the spot his own. We are thankful that he came up with some really good saves. He is a top player.

"A lot of the time he does not have as much to do as other goalkeepers. But that is the sign of a good goalkeeper.

"He makes big saves at the right time and keeps you in games. When we played Southampton in the Premier League we were controlling the game and he made save in the last minute. That is why he is a top goalkeeper.

"I am delighted for him because he waited a long time to get chance. He waited a long time to get his chance and he grabbed it with both hands. Hopefully he can carry on that type of form for us.

"Wayne does fill us with confidence. As a defender you try and minimise the saves he has to make, but you know when we does more often than not he is going to make a good save.

"Hopefully he can keep that form up because I think there is more to come from him."
