Crystal Palace youngster Aaron Wan-Bissaka is grateful to Andros Townsend for his support after making his debut in defeat to Tottenham.
The youngster, who started at right-back, impressed at Selhurst Park.
"Andros Townsend helped me a lot, but he also helps a lot of the others (U23 players) when they come training with the first team," he told the Croydon Advertiser.
"Andros just kept pushing me and told me I did well. He was helping me if I made a mistake, he would say to keep my head up and to try again, to keep going, rather than shouting or moaning.
"It's helped being on the bench for a few games this season, to get a taste of what it's like and what it's going to be in the future.
"Hopefully I can get used to it. Hopefully I can be part of the next games, that's what I will try to do and keep my place or in the squad."
