Crystal Palace are closing on a deal for Benfica midfielder Erdal Rakip.

Maisfutebol says the Sweden Under-21 international only joined the Portuguese champions earlier this month from hometown club Malmo.

The creative midfielder signed a long-term deal keeping him at the Estadio da Luz until 2022.

However the Lisbon outfit has let Rakip join Roy Hodgson's Eagles for the rest of the season to aid his development.

The 21-year-old flew to London on Friday with his advisor Hasan Cetinkaya for talks and a medical.
