Crystal Palace are closing a deal for Leicester City winger Jeffrey Schlupp.

The Sun says Palace are close to completing a move for Schlupp for £12million.

Palace boss Sam Allardyce has been keen to beef up his defence during the window, with Schlupp in London undergoing a medical and will put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half year deal.

Allardyce also offered £7m for Sunderland full back Patrick van Aanholt, but that was rejected so the Palace boss turned his attention to Schlupp who has been keen to leave the East Midlands after starting just one league game for the champions this season.

Palace are trying to rush through the deal before the Premier League midday deadline, Allardyce is keen for the Ghana international to be available for the London derby at West Ham on Saturday.
