Crystal Palace chief Steve Parish has spoken of their failed attempt to land Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.
The Eagles were reportedly in pole position to sign Arsenal's Wilshere on season-long loan, but ultimately lost out as the England international opted for a move to Bournemouth.
“It was a bit like Haley's Comet – it arrived as fast as it went," he told Holmesdale Radio.
“We were contacted 'would we be interested?' We said yes and threw our hat in the ring but the player decided to go to Bournemouth, I think one of his best mates plays there.
“He's a very, very good player – that's the level of player we are trying to bring to the club. You can't win them all."
