Crystal Palace chairman Parish: We want top ten finish next year

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has vowed the club will return stronger for next season.

The Eagles have managed to secure their Premier League after spending the majority of the season mired in a relegation battle.

Parish said: "I know it is going to sound disingenuous - and I've got to be the most disappointed of everybody, because we didn't have a great start and I've got to hold my hands up to a large part of that responsibility.

"Everybody who knows me, knows that I don't run away from anything, I want to do better every year.

"I tweeted at the end of last season that the plan was to break into the top ten.

"We're going to get close aren't we, but probably not the way we would have wanted, but that is this division.

"Of course you live and you learn. We've got it right now and we've got to build for next year."
