Crystal Palace chairman Parish backs De Boer to lead the Eagles to top-ten finish

Crystal Palace chief Steve Parish is confident that new manager Frank de Boer can lead the Eagles to a top-half finish next season.

The South London side have found themselves fighting relegation battles for the past two seasons, but Parish believes that de Boer's arrival will mark the beginning of a new era for the club.

He said: "We have been in the bottom three two seasons running for home form. We got away with not going down last season, but it was close make no mistake. At times, the stress involved was incredible.

"If we don't get better, and do something different, it could happen again. We are already 12-1 for the drop next season.

"We have to get out of the bottom 10. We have to move this club forward. I believe Frank can achieve for us what we want.

"The pressure to stay up now is almost unbearable, the fans hopes and dreams and their fears, even jobs can rely on it.

"To improve this club, and then lose it in one season would be terrible. So, if Frank fails, its my failure too."
