Crystal Palace captain Jason Puncheon has hailed the impact of manager Sam Allardyce.

Puncheon is adamant Allardyce's role in avoiding the drop should not be understated.

"It's been brilliant since he has come in, he pulled everyone together and lifted us all," Puncheon told the club's official website.

"He is obviously a big factor while we have stayed up but now it's about looking forward to next season and building on what we have done and not be in this position again.

"We have a good platform and must begin next season looking for a bright start and show the form we have done in recent weeks and get in a much better position than we are at the end of this season."
