Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce: We shouldn't need motivating for Hull clash

Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce insists his players shouldn't need motivating for their massive six-pointer against Hull City.

Palace need just one point to secure their top-flight status in a contest that could send Hull back down to the Championship.

"I will get out of the way and leave the players to focus on the game," said Allardyce, who steered Sunderland clear of relegation last season.

"Our preparation is before we get into the dressing room, it's not a team talk, it's not a motivation in the dressing room. If we have to do that, we have, as a staff, failed miserably.

"Our players have already been prepared for Hull. They've got all they need. They've already got the opposition's weaknesses, they'll all have their strengths. We'll have our game plan. I don't sleep easy before any game.

"I've watched boxsets, I'm actually running out, I could do with some new ones that attract me. Billions has finished, I'm gutted about that."
