Crystal Palace boss Pardew takes swipe at Newcastle transfer policy

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew insists he doesn't suffer any interference from chief Steve Parish.

Pardew claims boardroom figures at some clubs are becoming “far too involved" in the football matters but believes they have got the right balance at Palace.

"I have got a great relationship with Steve," said Pardew. “I admire the way he has conducted his business at this club. He has let the managers get on with it.

"He is hands on sort of chairman so does the financial deals, which suits me. He wants my final say on all the stuff we do with recruitment.

“[At Newcastle] the financial element came first, then the technical side of it. It is difficult to pick up results when you do not think the players are being signed to fit what you want. I was a bit frustrated but I have not got that excuse here [at Palace]."
