Crystal Palace boss Pardew: Spurs never bid for Bolasie

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew is happy to have kept hold of Yannick Bolasie.

Pardew admits he was relieved to avoid a tug-of-war with Tottenham over Bolasie.

He said: "I was listening to that song the other day, there's no thunder without rain.

"There was a lot of noise which suggests normally that something is coming along. Probably the club that make the most rain is Real Madrid when they want someone.

"But there was enough rain coming from Spurs to suggest they might make some sort of bid. But there wasn't.

"I think the security of the Premier League finances means it's now more difficult for clubs to come and take players from Stoke, from us, from West Brom."
