Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew will seek advice from Tim Sherwood about how to get the best from Emmanuel Adebayor.

Adebayor, who this week joined Crystal Palace until the end of the season, flourished during Sherwood's short spell in charge of Tottenham.

Pardew said: “It is important to understand the history and talk to people who have worked with him.

“I probably will speak to Tim. I need to work with Ade first and then I will call Tim just to finalise that my opinion is right. Tim knows that there are certain things that Adebayor works with. I would be foolish to ignore them. I am going to try and create an atmosphere that gives him the best chance of success."
