Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew is delighted with the local influence on his current squad.
Pardew believes a number of his squad could make their way into the England team this term.
He added: “It is a strength [the amount of English players] Palace have this season.
“We have Alex McCarthy, Scott Dann, Wilfried Zaha, Patrick Bamford, Connor Wickham and Jason Puncheon. I purposefully got these young, English players because I want to promote them for the England side but obviously I don't select the England side. I can't select them so they just need to play very well [to get in].
“In front of all of them at the moment is Scott Dann, he is definitely challenging the best centre-halves in the division and he goes under the radar a little bit."
