Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew says the Premier League must support their clubs in Europe.
In Italy and Spain fixtures are switched to ensure teams get a longer break between European matches.
And Pardew said: “I feel the reward is disappointing for teams who get into the Europa League. Just look at West Ham.
“On Thursday, Slaven Bilic gets knocked out of Europe and everybody's saying he's under massive pressure – but he was protecting his team because of the travel and the game being on a Thursday.
“Then he wins on Sunday at Arsenal – and now people are getting tattoos about it. It isn't fair. We all want to play in Europe and our team to have a greater profile – which European football gives you. But it's not fair on Premier League teams to play on Thursday then Sunday.
“We can't do it at the level of intensity we're playing at. Every manager keeps saying it and nothing is being done.
“Uefa need to look at it. The Premier League need to fight for us and say, 'Look, it's just not fair'.
“If they want it on Thursday night because of the TV then Premier League games should be played on a Monday."
