Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew is dead against English quotas in the Premier League.
FA chairman Greg Dyke revealed back in March he wants to increase the amount of home-grown players in a 25-man squad from eight to 12.
But Crystal Palace boss Pardew said: “It would be a disastrous move."
Dyke's demand earned limited support at the time but the issue has come back on the agenda after last week. Pardew added: “When you have a world-class product like we have, it's going to produce world-class players.
“Everyone is getting carried away with that percentage of English players. If English players are good enough, they are going to break through and that's how it is.
“If you start putting rules in place that change that, you are going to disrupt the whole thing.
“If they [English players] are good enough they will play, if not they go into the Championship on loan and try to get to the Premier League that way. A few players have done that to great success."
