Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew is chasing Newcastle attacker Moussa Sissoko.
Sissoko – a star for hosts and losing finalists France at Euro 2016 – played alongside Palace ace Cabaye in their days under Pardew on Tyneside.
Sources say Pardew is "very interested" in Sissoko, 26, who is eager to leave Newcastle following relegation, says the Sunday Mirror.
But the Geordies have slapped a potentially prohibitive valuation on a player who cost only £1.5million when Pardew signed him from Toulouse in January 2013.
German giants Borussia Dortmund are understood to be leading the chase for Sissoko, who has said he would love to join “the beautiful Arsenal", and has also been linked with Liverpool and Chelsea.
