Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew insists they were never in for Stoke City striker Wilfried Bony.
The Ivorian joined the Potters on-loan from Manchester City on deadline day.
"He wasn't really on our list," Pardew said. "That doesn't mean I don't think he's a very, very good player. He is.
"They have got other players who are just as dangerous as Bony. Arnautovic, Bojan, Walters, Diouf. They've got a really good strikeforce there. They've had a very difficult start with fixtures. That is one of the reasons they are bottom of the league – they're not a poor team."
