Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew admits he's a fan of Watford captain Troy Deeney.

Deeney hasn't set the Premier League alight just yet, with strike partner Odion Ighalo taking the plaudits so far this season.

"I'm a big fan of Troy," said Pardew.

"He's someone I've tried to sign in the past and made enquiries for.

"Him and Ighalo up front are playing well at the moment. They would give anyone a difficult afternoon, so we need to be ready for that.

"We will need to have a good attacking philosophy which we will try to deliver."
