Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson says they need Christian Benteke at his best after the Belgian's return on Saturday.
Benteke returned to the side after almost two months out with a knee ligament injury, with the Belgian international coming on as a second half substitute in the 2-2 draw.
“He has been out for seven weeks and that is up to him," Hodgson said when asked about rustiness after his injury lay-off.
“He is a big money signing for the club and there is a lot of expectancy and he will have to live up to those expectations.
“He had a good chance [against Everton] and missed it, and if he does that week after week and gets good chances and misses them, then I don't think people will be saying 'don't worry, you have got Benteke to come back'.
“But the two up front have been doing very well, and once again they terrorised the Everton defence, particularly [Wilfried] Zaha.
“Our midfield play, I know Ruben will get the major plaudits and that's fine, because he had a very good game, but all four of them I thought were excellent against an Everton midfield."
