Crystal Palace boss Hodgson ponders winter market: We're looking, but...

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson has played down the prospect of a big spending January market.

Selhurst Park chiefs gave Hodgson's predecessor Frank de Boer money to play with in the summer transfer window.

“I don't think it's going to be totally up to me what business we do in the transfer window, that will be a matter for the club – how much money they want to invest," he said.

“They have already invested quite a lot of money on this squad of players we have here so really the question about what transfer activity there is going to be isn't just a question for me, it's a question for the club.

“Of course we are constantly on the lookout to see what strengthening we could do to our team and the reasons we might need it, but quite frankly until we get a lot closer to the transfer window I won't know what kind of money, if any, will be available and what we can do.

“Everybody knows we have two senior goalkeepers at the club, one of whom is 38-years-plus and right from the very start of the season everyone has been saying that Crystal Palace need at least one more goalkeeper. I don't think that's a great secret."
